India's "Incorrect Assumptions" About COVID Led To Dire Crisis: Dr Fauci

American health expert Dr Anthony Fauci on May 11 stated India made "incorrect assumptions" about COVID-19, leading to the second wave and sudden surge in cases. He said, "They opened up prematurely and wind up having a surge right now that... is extremely devastating". Besides, Fauci also pointed out some lessons from India's crisis and said US should not underestimate the situation, and must boost the local public health infrastructure.
