India's Primary School Teacher In Race For $1-Million Global Teacher Prize
Ranjitsinh Disale, a primary-school teacher from Solapur, Maharashtra is in the race to win $1-million Global Teacher Prize, which associates with UNESCO. Promoting girl’s education, Disale revamped the school building, translated textbooks into mother tongue and made his school the first in Maharashtra to enable learning through QR codes. Disale also ensured 100% girls' attendance at school while reducing teenage marriages in his village significantly.
