INS Demands Google To Pay At Least 85% Ad Revenue
The Indian Newspaper Society (INS), which represents around 800 publishers, has urged Google to contribute at least 85% of Ad revenue for publishing their ‘proprietary’ content. Interestingly, the move came after Australia passed a law that mandated Google and Facebook to pay for using local news. Moreover, INS accused Google of picking implausible content leading to the propagation of fake news. Recently, Google and Facebook have announced to spend $1 billion on news.
