Japan: Yoshihide Suga Elected as Leader of LDP, Likely to be Next PM
Japan's Yoshihide Suga has been elected as the leader of Liberal Democratic Party and is likely to succeed Shinzo Abe as the Prime Minister. Suga won the support of 377 law makers and regional representatives out of 534 in the party. Suga, who is the Chief Cabinet Secretary will likely be announced as PM on September 16. Earlier, Japan PM Shinzo Abe announced his retirement due to his ailments.
