Karnataka HC Clarifies Stand In Hijab Row; Says, Wearing Hijab 'Non-Essential'
Karnataka HC bench reviewed Hijab row, on February 21 and said that non-essential religious practices (including wearing of Hijab) should be kept outside educational institutions. The bench comprising chief justice Ritu Raj Awasthi, cited Dr BR Ambedkar, and also said, "let's keep religious instructions outside educational institutions". Meanwhile, AG representing the institution also said that only essential religious practices come under Article 25 of the Indian Constitution.
