Karnataka Rejects Centre's Proposal To Privatise Power Distribution Companies
The Karnataka government stated that the discoms (power distribution companies) in the state were in a good "fiscal shape" and there was no need to privatise them. The remarks came against the Centre's proposal to privatise discoms in the state. However, the state can opt for this if it sees positive results in the Union Territories that have implemented privatisation. Earlier, the Centre had proposed privatisation of three discoms of Karnataka.
