Karnataka to Seek Rs 4,800 Crore; Central Team to Visit Flood-hit areas
Karnataka Revenue Minister R Ashoka said that a six-member team from the Central government will visit the state to take stock of the flood situation. Reportedly, the team, headed by Union Home Ministry's Joint Secretary, will visit on September 7, and will hold talks with Karnataka's CM. The state government is also planning to submit a memorandum asking for Rs 4,800 crore to compensate the loss caused by the floods.
