Kenya's Daniel Wanjiru Banned from Contesting Marathons For Doping
The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) on October 15 issued a four-year ban to the former London Marathon winner Daniel Wanjiru for violating the World Athletics Anti-Doping Rules. The Kenyan long-distance runner allegedly used a banned substance as his haemoglobin levels were high compared to his biological passport. The panel further mentioned that there was no physiological explanation for the change in levels. The athlete was earlier suspended in April 2020.
