Kerala Congress Supports Sabarimala Tradition, Promises Law Over It
The Kerala Congress on February 6 brought a draft of proposed legislation of protecting Sabarimala temple traditions. The announcement over the sub judice matter was made aiming the upcoming assembly polls. Promising to enact a law if voted to power, the Congress stated entry of menstruating women in Sabarimala still remains an issue. Senior Congress leader Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said that after the law is enacted, going against the tradition would be considered a "cognizable offense".
