Kerala Government Pulls Back Recently Added Law Against Cyber Bullying
After facing agitation especially from the opposition, the Pinarayi Vijayan-led Kerala government has decided to back-off from implementing recently added laws against cyberbullying. CM Vijayan has stated that decisions will be taken after "detailed discussions" in the assembly. As per the proposed law, propagating defamatory or derogatory claims against the state would result in imprisonment and/or fine. Though the opposition claimed it a threat to democracy, CM refuted the accusations.
