Kerala: Ruling CPI(M)'s Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan Quits Citing Ill-health
Just ahead of two upcoming major elections in Kerala, the ruling CPI(M)'s secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has stepped down from the post on November 13. He tendered his resignation on the ground of ill-health. The Congress has been demanding Kodiyeri to step down following the corruption cases surfaced lately. Recently, the CPI(M) leader's son, Bineesh Kodiyeri, was arrested in connection with a money laundering case.
