Kerala Set To Have World's Largest Rehabilitation Centre For Elephants
The Kerala government has planned to expand and renovate Elephant Rehabilitation Centre at Thiruvananthapuram's Kottur to attract tourists. The project would be undertaken with a funding of Rs 108 crore from Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board. The construction will cover around 176 hectares of forest including various amenities like a veterinary hospital, museum and cemetery among others. The centre will also have a system to produce paper through elephant dung.
