Khashoggi Killing: Saudi Court Revokes Death Sentence

On September 7, Riyadh criminal court revoked death punishments and sentenced imprisonment to eight unidentified accused in journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s killing. Three of them were sentenced between seven to ten years and five others were sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment. The revocation came after Khashoggi’s sons pardoned them from execution. However, Khashoggi’s friends claim that the decision to pardon, could be coerced. Earlier in 2018, Khashoggi was killed by a Saudi hit squad in Turkey.
