Knight Riders Suffer Painful Defeat As Mumbai Indians Make Epic Rebound
Mumbai Indians left Kolkata Knight Riders wounded after it scripted an epic comeback to win the fifth match of IPL 2021 by 10 runs. KKR opted to bowl after winning the toss of the match which was later going to be full of shockers. Batting first, Mumbai posted only a par score of 152 runs in 20 overs as its middle order could not continue the momentum provided by skipper Rohit Sharma (43 runs) and Suryakumar Yadav (56 runs). For KKR, Andre Russell delivered his career-best performance and cracked five wickets by giving just 15 runs. Coming to chase, KKR started well and the match looked in their control until the fifteenth over when their score was 122-4. In the last five overs, KKR required just 31 runs with six wickets in hand to seal the game. However, KKR tumbled severely and was summed up at 142/7 after 20 overs, thanks to Rahul Chahar's deadly spell bagging four wickets. KKR Co-owner Shahrukh Khan called it a "Disappointing performance" and apologised to all KKR fans.
