K'taka To Punish Hospitals Refusing To Give COVID Bodies Over Dues
The Karnataka government has directed all district administrations to cancel registration of private hospitals that refuse to hand over bodies of COVID-19 victims to families due to incomplete payment. The government, under KPME Act, ordered that no hospital should insist on payment at the time of handing over of dead patients, "neither can they withhold the bodies". Besides, the government has also demanded a weekly report on the order's compliance.
