Ladakh: China Shows No Interest In Disengagement at LAC, Continues to Build Roads

China's Foreign Ministry after hearing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Independence Day speech, stated that China is ready to "manage our differences and work with India". However, a senior military official on August 22 stated that China has not taken a "serious attempt at conflict resolution" and that "there is no change in the ground situation". China is continuing to build roads, helipads and military infrastructures along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
