At Least 8 Asiatic Lions In Hyderabad Zoo Test COVID Positive

In a shocking incident, at least eight Asiatic lions in Hyderabad's Nehru Zoological Park have contracted the COVID-19. Reportedly, the zoo officials observed COVID-like symptoms in the lions and conducted an RT-PCR test after which the Centre for Cellular & Molecular Biology on April 29 confirmed about the positive results. Meanwhile, zoo director Dr Siddhanand Kukrety said, "The lions are doing well." This is the first such case in India.
