According to a report, Kerala bagged the first spot as the most literate state in the country. Kerala's literacy rate stood at 96.2 per cent. With a literacy rate of 66.4 per cent, Andhra Pradesh stood at the last spot. The country's average stood at 77.7 per cent. The top five states included Kerala (96.2%), Delhi (88.7%), Uttarakhand (87.6%), Himachal Pradesh (86.6%), and Assam (85.9%).
