Local Body Seizes AMU's Bank A/c Over Non-Payment Of Property Dues
Failing to pay property tax of over Rs 14 crore, the bank account of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been seized by the city's municipal corporation. Reportedly, the corporation has given "enough chances" to the university to pay the dues pending for the past eight-ten years. Chief Taxation Officer Vinay Kumar Rai stated that if the dues are not cleared by the university in a week, the administration may obfuscate the properties of AMU.
