L&T Wins Bid To Build 47% Of Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Route
Mumbai-based Larsen and Toubro Limited (L&T) on October 19 won the bid for constructing the largest section of Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project. L&T quoted Rs 24,985 crore for the project, which was lesser than other bidders - Tata Projects and Afcons Infrastructure Limited. Reportedly, L&T will construct 47% (237 km) of the 508-km long project including four stations: Vapi, Billimora, Surat and Bharuch. Interestingly, the whole section is in Gujarat.
