Madurai: NIA Raids 4 Locations For FB Post Propagating ISIS Beliefs

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on May 16 conducted raids at four different locations in Madurai pertaining to radical and inappropriate posts on Facebook by a user Mohammad Iqbal. The police have recovered laptop, hard disks, mobile phones, memory cards, SIMs, and extremist documents in the search. Reportedly, the suspect belonged to Hizb-Ut- Tahrir and was popularizing ISIS ideologies on Facebook. Earlier, Iqbal was arrested on December 2, 2020.
