Maha Govt Launches Jail Tourism Initiative From Pune's Yerawada Jail
The Maharashtra government on January 26 rolled out a jail tourism initiative to glorify the struggles of freedom fighters. The initiative will enable people to know about the history by jail visits, including of Thane, Nashik and Ratnagiri jails. Launching from the 150-year-old Pune’s Yerawada Jail where Mahatma Gandhi, Lokmanya Tilak, Sardar Patel and many more were imprisoned, CM Uddhav Thackeray remembered how his father late Bal Thackeray was also jailed there.
