Maha Govt Sets Up Board to Suggest Names for Padma Awards

A commission headed by State Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray, has been set up by the Maharashtra Government for recommending the names of distinguished personalities from all walks of life, for the Padma awards which are to be announced on January 26, 2021. The centre has directed the state to recommend the names, said a Government Resolution published on August 11. However, a nine-member committee headed by Thackeray has been constituted.
