Maharashtra: 4 Arrested For Stealing Pyre Ashes To Extract Melted Jewellery

Two men, along with their wives, were thrashed by locals of Devgaon Khurd village in Maharashtra's Osmanabad district after being caught stealing pyre ashes for extracting melted jewellery of a cremated woman. The accused were later handed over to police and a case has been registered against them. Reportedly, the offenders were facing financial crisis and after learning that the deceased was being cremated along with her jewellery, they tried to steal the pyre ashes.
