Make Rules For Species Not Covered Under WPA, 1972: Delhi HC
The Delhi High Court has asked the central government to frame rules for exotic species that are not protected under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. Filed by animal rights group 'PETA', the plea sought a status for a rescued hippopotamus. Moreover, the court directed the authorities to permanently keep the hippo in a Jamnagar facility. Reportedly, the hippo was found in poor health from an Asiad circus.
