Malaysian PM Muhyiddin Yassin Tenders His Resignation
After losing the majority in Parliament, Malaysian PM Muhyiddin Yassin tendered his resignation to king AI-Sultan Abdullah on August 16. The king said Yassin will carry on his duties as it is not clear who would form the next government. However, the King himself will likely decide if the country runs without a PM. Reportedly, Yassin resigned as opposition and citizens blamed him for failing against the COVID-19 crisis.
