Mali President, Prime Minister Released After 3 Days Of Detainment
Mali's military on May 27 released President and Prime Minister from detention after three days arrest. Reportedly, the UN, African Union, and ECOWA urged the military for their release. Although the conditions of their release are unknown, they have returned to their homes in Bamako, said their associates. The release came after both the leaders resigned from their positions during detention. However, the UN said that such resignations are ‘unacceptable.’
