Mamata Writes To PM; Seeks Withdrawal Of Order Recalling Chief Secretary
Seeking cancellation of order recalling state chief secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee penned down to PM Narendra Modi. CM Mamata wrote, "I sincerely hope latest order is not related to my meeting with you at Kalaikunda". Scheduled to retire on May 31, Bandyopadhyay was granted a three-month extension on May 24. However, on May 28, the Centre asked Bengal to “relieve Bandyopadhyay with immediate effect.”
