Meghalaya To Bring EV Policy 2021; Eyes To Curb 36.5L Kg CO2/Year

Meghalaya Government has introduced a new electric vehicle policy 2021 to be implemented from April 1. Applicable for the next five years, the policy aims at ensuring 15% EVs in Meghalaya by 2025 to save roughly 50 lakh litres of fuel. Offering incentives to early birds, the government plans to include over 20,000 EVs in the next five years. If successfully implemented, the policy will help in reducing about 10,000 kg of CO2 daily.
