Militant Attack Survivor Kashmiri Man Teaches Specially-Abled Children
Source of inspiration to many disabled, 45-year-old paralysed Kashmiri man Javed Ahmad Tak is educating specially-abled kids for free. Hit by militant’s bullet in 1997, the wheelchair-bound Javed opened a school for specially-abled kids in 2006. With donations from NGOs and locals, Javed teaches 120 differently-abled students and owns two busses to ferry them. Interestingly, some of the students have also participated and won medals in national level sports competitions.
