Monks Demand UNESCO-Monitored Excavation at Ram Janmabhoomi, Claims the Site

Two monks staged a Hunger strike near the office of District Magistrate of Ayodhya, claiming that the ancient relics and emblems found during the leveling of Ram Janmabhoomi belong to the Buddhist culture and it must be made public. "The organisation does not oppose the construction of Ram temple but to preserve the remains of Buddhist culture," said the chief of Azad Bauddh Dhamma Sena.
