Mosquitoes Cause Lockdown For Residents Of Bopodi In Pune
Residents of Pune's Bopodi are forced to live in a nature-imposed lockdown owing to swarms of mosquitoes induced by overgrown hyacinth at the Mula-Mutha river. Blaming the Pune Municipal Corporation over their inaction, the residents also fear the threat of dengue and malaria during the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, amid contentions over the area of jurisdiction between the PMC and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, PMC Commissioner Jaydeep Pawar affirmed of joint action to tackle the issue.
