MP: World's Oldest Animal Fossil Discovered In Bhimbetka Caves
Experts of the Geological Survey of India have discovered a fossil of a pre-historic animal 'Dickinsonia' in Madhya Pradesh's Bhimbetka rock shelters near Bhopal. Reportedly, the leaf-like structured animal imprints were found 11-feet above the ground of Bhimbetka's auditorium Cave. Proclaimed as the world's oldest animal, the fossil dates back to 570 million years and is 17 inches long. As per experts, the discovery links "simple organisms and the explosion of life."
