Museum to remove controversial Roosevelt statue that depicts racism

The American Museum of Natural History in New York will remove the statue of Theodore Roosevelt, standing since 1940 which depicts racial discrimination. ÔÇ£It explicitly depicts Black and Indigenous people as subjugated and racially inferior. The City supports the MuseumÔÇÖs request. It is the right decision and the right time to remove this problematic statue,ÔÇØ Mayor Bill de Blasio said in a statement.
