Nadal Knocks Out Djokovic To Win The French Open Men's Singles Title
Tennis fans around the world witnessed the sport's greatest rivals clash on October 11 when Spain's Rafael Nadal once again proved to the world that he is indeed the 'King of Clay'. He defeated the top seed and world number one Novak Djokovic 6-0, 6-2, 7-5, earning his 20th Grand Slam victory, now at par with Roger Federer's record. The match was held in the Philippe Chatrier court under a closed retractable roof with at least a thousand masked spectators. The Spaniard had a ferocious start which forced the Serbian to make a lot of unforced errors. As the game continued, Nadal showed the same intensity and turned down the efforts made by Djokovic to save breakpoints. In the final set, the efforts made by Djokovic were in vain after dropping the serve and the 'double fault', leading Nadal to victory. Throughout the two hours and thirty minutes of the unilateral game, Nadal exhibited sheer dominance over Djokovic to clinch the Roland Garros title.
