Nagaland Resumes Dog Meat Trade as HC puts Ban on Hold
The import-export of dogs and dog meats have resumed after the Kohima bench of Guwahati High Court put hold on the "banned dog trade" earlier this week. As per Government sources, the decision resulted after Nagaland government's failure to file an affidavit after the High Court advised it to, on September 14. Many petitioners constituting dog traders had opposed the ban calling it devoid of legislative sanction after its enactment back in July.
