Naxal Activities Drop By 47% As 23 More Districts Become LWE Free: Govt
The Centre on February 9 said that the Left-wing extremism has declined by 47% in the last five years as compared to the figures of 2009-2014. The government stated that number of districts affected by Naxalism has also dropped from 76 (2013) to 53 in 2020. Moreover, LWE incidents have declined by 70%, from 2,258 (2009) to 665 in 2020. Minister G Kishan Reddy attributed the geographical shrinkage to the government’s multi-pronged LWE counter strategies.
