New approach to enumerate lions in Africa: Researchers

A group of researchers have found a new method for counting lions in Africa. Conservation biologist Alexander Braczkowski and his team use high resolution cameras to click the lionsÔÇÖ ÔÇ£whisker patternÔÇØ, which is unique.  This ensures same animal is not counted twice. According to Braczkowski, current method of counting such as, studying the lionÔÇÖs tracks or calling them out by distress calls of preys are unreliable and inaccurate.
