New Yorkers Ditch Masks As COVID-19 Cases Dip
New York Governor, Kathy Hochul, announced the state would drop its mask mandate for most businesses. “Here we are back from our pandemic sabbatical,” said a Chief Executive Officer. However, masks will stay on for schoolchildren, hospital workers and nursing home residents. The daily cases dropped from 43,604 on January 4 to 1,906 on February 6. Meanwhile, daily hospitalizations dropped to 104 from around 1,000 in the city.
