New Zealand Police Inducts Hijab In Official Uniform For "Inclusive" Service
To ensure participation of women from Muslim community, the New Zealand police have introduced hijab in their official uniform. Zeena Ali, 30, who was recently recruited as constable, would become the first officer to wear the newly inducted uniform. Zeena told the New Zealand Herald, "I realized more Muslim women were needed in the police, to go and support people." Similar approach has already been adopted in London and Scotland.
