NIA Raids Places In Kashmir In Suspected Assistance Of Terror Attacks

National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids on numerous places in Kashmir on October 27 in the matter of suspected assistance and financing of terror operations by members of the now-banned Jamaat-e-Islami. NIA launched a significant operation on Jamat in Kashmir in August. In February 2019, the Ministry-of-Home Affairs banned Jamat for five years. Several leaders of Jamat, one of the biggest socio-political organizations, were detained shortly after it was banned.
