No Lockdown, No Curfews In The State, Says Telangana Health Director

Evaluating huge surge in COVID-19 cases in Telangana, the Director for Public Health Dr. Srinivas Rao on April 14 made a consequential caution to the state people. He urged people to wear masks and follow COVID-19 protocols. "The situation might get worsened in the next four to six weeks, despite the government’s complete efforts. If the same situation prevails, it would be difficult to accommodate beds (for COVID-19 patients) in the hospitals," Srinivas mentioned. "If a person in a family gets infected with Coronavirus, that can spread to other family members within hours to a day." According to the reports, the new strain of COVID-19 virus is spreading rapidly. Explaining the intensity of the circumstances, he fears, if situation in the state gets worsened like in Maharashtra. Considering the people’s livelihood and state’s financial situation, the state government is not ready to impose lockdown or curfews, he added.
