NRIs Turn Old Govt School Building In Jalandhar Into Scenic One
In a gratifying initiative, some Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) have turned an old government school in Jalandhar’s Bhandal Himat into a creative spot for learning. Raising over Rs 40 lakh, the NRIs decorated the walls and ceiling of the school with portraits of Guru Gobind Singh and Rabindranath Tagore, and with slogans. Earlier, the school could not conduct classes in monsoons due to flooding and snakes, but now students quit private schools to take admission here.
