Number of Undernourished People in India Comes Down by 60 Million: UN

The United Nations released a report on ‘The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World’, the number of undernourished people in India has declined by 60 million, coming down to 14% in 2017-19, which was 21.7% in 2004-06, due to long-term economic growth, reduced inequality, and improved accessibility. On a global level, the number of undernourished people went up by 10 million, which could increase after Covid-19.
