Odisha Budget Assembly Dismissed Twice Over Paddy Procurement Uproar
The second day budget session at the Odisha Assembly endured two adjournments due to heated dispute between the opposition parties. The Congress and BJP fought over the state government's slack in paddy procurement causing loss to the farmers. "we will not allow the House to function until all the paddy bags are cleared from the Mandi," said the Congress party candidate Taraprasad Bahinipati. Reportedly, Speaker S N Patro dismissed proceedings during pre-lunch and afternoon sessions.
