Odisha Doctor Starts "One Rupee" Clinic For Underprivileged People
Dr Shankar Ramchandani, an assistant professor in Odisha's Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), has started a "One Rupee" clinic to treat the underprivileged. Located in Burla town, the clinic provides remedial consultation to the poor, destitute, elderly and physically-challenged for just a rupee. For the initiative to which Ramchandani termed as his long-standing aspiration, he said, "I am a doctor of the masses and not the classes."
