Paris Votes To Close Its 19th-Century Famous Bird Market
Paris has voted to close down its 19th-century bird market owing to an animal rights group's campaign and the site's renovation. "The market had become the epicentre of bird trafficking," said Paris Deputy Mayor Christophe Najdovksi. Located in the flower market hall of Paris, the famous bird market that operates on Sundays is a popular tourist attraction in the French capital. However, the bird market will remain operative till the renovation project's completion in 2023-25.
