People From Transgender Community To Be Recruited In Police Forces: Odisha
The Recruitment Board for the Odisha's police force has invited applications from people belonging to the transgender community. Reportedly, posts for 477 sub-inspectors and 244 constables have been allotted to them. Aspirants from the transgender community have requested for a moderation in the physical fitness eligibility criteria to compete with the other gender. States such as Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan have already started recruiting transgenders in police force.
