Pfizer Asks DCGI's Approval For Vaccine Distribution In India

As per reports, Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has received a request from the US-based Pfizer for Emergency Use Authorization of the COVID-19 vaccine. In its application, Pfizer has asked for permission to import, sell and distribute the vaccine immediately without clinical trials on Indian population under New Drugs and Clinical Trials Rules, 2019. Earlier, the UK has approved for emergency use of the vaccine.
