PM Modi Inaugurates Three New Welfare Projects for Gujarat
Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi launched three new projects- Suryodaya Yojana, Girnar ropeway and a Paediatric Heart Hospital at Ahmedabad on October 24 in Gujarat. Upon launching the welfare projects, PM Modi stated that the projects symbolize the state's "Strength, devotion and health". As per the new Suryodaya Yojna, farmers of the state get uninterrupted electricity from 5 AM to 9 PM through solar panels which are installed. Currently, 10 districts will be covered under the scheme, and the rest will get the feature in a phase wise manner starting from 2022. The PM also launched Girnar ropeway which enables travelers and devotees to reach the peak of Mount Girnar, in less than 10 minutes. It is also Asia's longest ropeway. While inaugurating the new Paediatric Hospital which is attached to the U.N Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre, PM Modi claimed that over 21 lakh people of Gujarat have received free treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
